Procurement & engineering FAQ

Questions your staff engineer and your CFO will both ask.

Answered up front so a demo call can focus on rollout, not on paperwork.

  • Do you offer self-hosted pricing, or is Yeinz cloud-only?

Both. Cloud is the default and includes 99.99% trailing uptime, 7-minute median first-response support, and managed upgrades. Self-hosted Enterprise is the single binary install (under 38 MB) deployed in your VPC, priced by seats plus an annual platform fee — no per-deploy metering on self-hosted instances.

Air-gapped and FedRAMP-aligned deployments are scoped via the Enterprise contract.

  • How are annual commits billed, and what happens if we exceed them?

Annual commits are billed up-front via PO or annual card. Mid-cycle seat increases are pro-rated and invoiced on the renewal anniversary. Deployment event overage is billed monthly at $0.0034 per event above your included volume — we send a heads-up at 80% and 100% so you don’t get surprise line items. We do not auto-burst you into a higher tier.

  • Can we get SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 documentation before signing?

Yes — our latest SOC 2 Type II report, ISO 27001 certificate, sub-processor list, and data-residency map are available under NDA from day one. Mutually-signed MNDA templates are pre-prepared and average a 48-hour turn from your legal team to ours. Enterprise customers can also get an annual penetration-test summary on request.

  • What does migration off Jenkins / Datadog / PagerDuty look like in practice?

Every Team and Enterprise plan ships with a migration engineer for the first 30 days. We typically run a parallel-cutover: Yeinz reads your existing pipelines and alerts for one sprint, you cut DNS over, and we retain read-only access to the legacy stack for one extra billing cycle. Median cutover in our 2024 customer cohort was 11 days from kickoff to full decommission — your mileage varies with pipeline count.
